A book that marks its footnotes with a small image drew that image at its full size, so a marker meant to be the height of one letter took up a third of the screen and broke the sentence in half. The note itself sat at the top of the chapter, so the reader met the explanation before the thing it explained. Neither is the book's fault. It marks its notes the way the EPUB spec says to, and a reading system is meant to keep them out of the way until the reader asks. Liseur now does that: the marker is drawn at the size of the surrounding text, and a note is hidden only when something on the same page points at it. A chapter that is itself a list of notes stays readable, and an aside that nobody links to is left alone. Tapping a marker opens the note as before. Asking to jump to it brings it back into view first. Fixes #152 |
